my wife karyn has a blog dedicated to her family, faith and her hobbies such as needlepoint – you can find it at the teakettle corner…

my oldest son sean is also very involved online and has had numerous blogs – he recently started a podcast on the state of the video game industry, something he’s studying in college hoping one day to be a video game developer…

finally my youngest son ian has recently started a videoblog, capturing and posting to his youtube channel most days hoping to do this for an entire year – or basically for his senior year of high school and as he prepares to enter college next fall…

i mentioned to one of my friends that the hardest part will be not doing things herself, she’s always so active and at the center of all of our activities – she just won’t be able to do that for the next month and half…

so the boys and i will try our best to take care of her, help out w/ the things she normally does and not destroy the house ;)

she’s glad to be home, still groggy and in pain but w/ her boys and dogs…

she’s got a long road to full recovery ahead of her – but lots of folks to help, and we’re thankful for that :)

she’s still in lots of pain & she’ll have to take it easy for 6 more weeks of course – but she’ll be so much more comfortable being in her own house w/ her boys and pets around her…

the hospital (stamford, ct – bennett medical center) and the staff (operating team, residences from columbia medical college and the main 2 north floor) have been fantastic, we’d really only experienced the emergency room (two active boys – plus me) since we moved to stamford in the late 90’s – this was our first operation and overnight stay and we were very happy w/ the care and professionalism of everyone involved…

plus, they were all just so friendly and kind to all of us – above and beyond what i’d every experience at a hospital in the past…

again, thanks for all your thoughts and prayers – we all really appreciated it, and it meant a lot to karyn especially…

she misses being home, w/ her boys and dogs :(

we’re all hoping today is the last day she has to be in the hospital…

will update when i can today – mostly been focusing on getting her comfortable right now…

she’s still in lots of pain but that’s to be expected – we’re hoping she can be feeling well enough to go home tomorrow :)

she’ll be slowly coming off the meds throughout the day and trying to transition towards more movement as she’s able…

hopefully by end of day she’ll be feeling more like herself instead of so fuzzy – potent meds do that :(
